Seeking help for mental health issues like depression, anxiety, etc. can be challenging. Client confidentiality is the requirement that therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and most other mental health professionals protect their client’s privacy by not revealing the contents of therapy. Psychologists at LYFSMILE understand that for people to feel comfortable talking about private and revealing information, they need a safe place to talk about anything they'd like, without fear of that information leaving the room. They take your privacy very seriously. Our priority is: shielding your privacy and safeguarding the information you provide. Our privacy and confidentiality standards are by far more advanced than what is required by law or regulations, so you can feel safe and comfortable.
If you wish for any of your information or records to be released to a third party, please let your counsellor know. Your counsellor will send you an authorization form that you will need to fill and sign before your information can be released.
When you sign up you will be given a choice to fill your full name and contact information. You may pick any "chosen name" which will identify you in the system. When you decide to start the counselling process, we will ask you for emergency contact information which is kept safe in the system so it can be used if your counsellor believes that you or someone else might be in danger. If you wish to have sessions via WhatsApp or voice call, then only you will be asked to share your contact number.
