I am Dr Pawan Kumar, a Psychologist, psychotherapist, and Mind-Body Wellness Specialist with a multidisciplinary background in psychology, psychotherapy and therapeutic nutrition. My work focuses on helping adolescents and adults navigate emotional distress, stress, trauma-related concerns, relationship difficulties and challenges related to emotional well-being. My approach combines psychological interventions with body-based and mind-body techniques to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions and physical responses. I aim to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where individuals, couples and families can explore their concerns and work towards greater emotional balance and resilience. Through an integrative approach, I draw from evidence-based psychological therapies alongside somatic and tapping-based techniques, depending on the individual's needs, goals and comfort. My focus is on helping clients develop healthier coping mechanisms, improve emotional regulation and build sustainable psychological well-being.
I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology (Clinical Psychology) (MAPC), along with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and an Advanced Diploma in Dietetics and Therapeutic Nutrition (A.D.D.T.N.) from Jamia Hamdard. I am also trained as a Certified Trauma Tapper through the Peaceful Heart Network, Stockholm, Sweden, with training in Trauma Tapping Technique (TTT) and First Aid Stress & Trauma (F.A.S.T.). In addition, I have completed the Certificate in Early Childhood Special Education Enabling Inclusion – Intellectual Disability (CESEIID), with recognition by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) currently awaited. I am also a member of the American Psychological Association (APA).
My professional work brings together psychological counselling, psychotherapy and multidisciplinary mind-body approaches. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing concerns related to anxiety, panic, chronic stress, trauma-related symptoms, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties and emotional regulation. My practice also includes working with couples and families around communication, conflict resolution, boundaries and emotional safety. Through an integrative approach, I combine psychological interventions with somatic techniques and mind-body wellness strategies to support clients according to their individual needs.
I believe therapy should create a space where people can feel heard without judgment and develop a deeper understanding of their emotional experiences. Healing can involve both the mind and the body, particularly when someone has been living with prolonged stress, trauma or emotional overwhelm. My role is not to tell clients how they should live their lives, but to support them as they understand their experiences, recognise unhelpful patterns and develop healthier ways of coping. Every individual's journey is different. By combining psychological approaches with mind-body techniques where appropriate, I aim to help clients build emotional resilience, strengthen relationships and move towards greater balance and well-being.
